Consultation and Chiropractic Examination
Your first visit will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. You will have a consultation to discuss your health-related problems and concerns. The initial visit is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, any conditions that may have brought you into the office and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, a complete chiropractic examination will be performed focusing especially on the areas of the spine with a direct connection to the nervous system housed within. A scan will be performed using the cutting edge three-technology Insight Discovery Subluxation Station, so we can see exactly how stress on the spine is affecting overall health.
The Insight Discovery Scans and COREscore
The test takes under 15 minutes and is performed by placing sensors on the skin over the spine. The Insight allows us to take a “snap shot” of the relationship between your spine and nervous system function at a given moment in time.
1. ORGAN AND GLAND CONTROL – The first part of examination process checks for temperature differences along the surface of the skin at each level of the spine. Heat is a byproduct of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system, the system that is responsible for organ and gland control. The image produced shows exactly where imbalances of the spine are beginning to affect the body’s function.
2. MUSCLE TONE & BALANCE – The second part of this examination is to determine how hard your muscles are working to maintain your posture. We can see if imbalance is causing some muscles to become overactive, working harder than they should be, leading to early fatigue. It is especially important to athletes to know they are training their muscles symmetrically to avoid injury.
3. HEART RATE VARIABILITY – The third part of the examination measures the beat to beat timings of your heart to evaluate your nervous system’s overall functional state, ability to adapt, self-regulate, cope with stress, and coordinate and control every function of the body. It lets us monitor the body’s reserve for coping with additional lifestyle stress. It tells us if the body has been under chronic stress for so long, that it is having trouble finding its healthy rhythm.
The results obtained in these tests are used to calculate a number from 1-100 to evaluate your overall NeuroSpinal Functional Assessment, or COREscore. This provides us an objective benchmark for periodically evaluating your success by measuring overall improvements in your body’s function rather than symptom relief alone, to make sure you have lasting results overtime.
Day 2: Report of Findings and First Adjustment
Once your initial evaluation is complete, at your second visit, Dr. O’Maley will give you a detailed report of your exam findings, recommendations for care and answer all questions including:
Can chiropractic help me?
How often do I need to come in?
How long will it take?
Dr. O’Maley will deliver her findings and recommendations, and go over your interpreted Insight scan and CoreScore with you, which will show you exactly how stress is affecting your physiology and impacting your overall health.
Your First Adjustment
A gentle and specific chiropractic adjustment reduces muscle spasm, improves joint mobility, and restores nerve flow between the brain and the body so you can be your best. An adjustment maximizes your capacity for healing, and many people experience relief right away. The first adjustment begins a process of unwinding of old patterns of nerve interference from lifestyle stress. Dr. O’Maley may adjust by hand or with a specialized low-force instrument, called The Integrator.
What will it cost?
