Dr. O’s Tips: How Much Water for My Body Size?

Drink 1 oz. of purified water for every 2 lbs of body weight daily. Cut your weight in half and that number is how many ounces of water you need every day to stay properly hydrated.

Dehydration can sabotage many of our best efforts to be healthy. Making this one simple change to stay hydrated relieves many every day complaints. Dehydration is a common cause of headaches and is one of the most common reasons people don’t lose weight despite a healthy diet and exercise. Staying properly hydrated also increases energy levels and relieves fatigue, flushes out toxins and promotes healthy liver and kidney function, keeps skin young, prevents constipation, boosts the immune system, and keeps muscles elastic and less prone to cramping and sprains.
